Drywood termites are the second most common type of termite. As the name suggests, these termites feed on and nest in low-moisture wood, which can even include furniture. Unlike subterranean termites, they don’t burrow through foundations. Instead, they have wings and can fly, allowing them to move around and infest different areas.

The dampwood termite, as the name implies, is attracted to wood that is moist and typically found below ground level. Of the three termite types, these are often the least problematic and the easiest to identify due to their larger size. While the damage they cause may take longer to become noticeable, it can still be significant over time.
